SBV Technical Analysis - Trading Volume with Confidence
SBV (Selling & Buying Volume) Oscillator: Key Points
| Tweet |
When it comes to technical analysis based on the SBV Oscillator, there are only two things which should be paid attention to:
- Direction of the SBV Oscillator which reveals a direction of volume (Money) flow - a trader (technical analyst) should know whether SBV Oscillator's readings are declining, advancing or flat (SBV Oscillator moves sideway);
- Green and red SBV Oscillator's areas which show how big bullish (green areas) and bearish (red areas) volume accumulation is - it helps to estimate how strongly an analysed stock (ETF, index) is overbought or oversold, it helps to evaluate the strength of volume (Money) flow and it helps to assume possible trend development when volume (money) flow does not directly reveals it (SBV Oscillator's readings are flat).
There are three main points in SBV Oscillator technical analysis without going deep into underlying processes:
- When SBV Oscillator readings are declining the sentiment is negative and the odds are that the future trend will be negative:
- If SBV Oscillator readings are at positive levels this signal is weak;
- If SBV Oscillator readings are close to zero or negative this signal is stronger.
- When SBV Oscillator readings are advancing the sentiment is positive and the odds are that the future trend will be positive:
- If SBV Oscillator readings are at negative levels this signal is weak;
- If SBV Oscillator readings are close to zero or positive this signal is stronger.
- When SBV Oscillator readings are flat, the sentiment is uncertain and future trend could be considered undefined.
- If SBV Oscillator readings are at negative levels sentiment could be slightly in favor of bears;
- If SBV Oscillator readings are at positive levels sentiment could be slightly in favor of bulls;
- If SBV Oscillator readings are close to zero look for closest volume accumulation. If bullish volume accumulation (Green SBV Oscillator area) is closer and bigger then the odds could be slightly in favor of bears. Respectfully if bearish volume accumulation (red SBV Oscillator area) is closer and bigger then the odds could be slightly in favor of bulls.
