Troubleshooting
If you are having trouble
accessing our chart indicators or some of their features, review the following checklist for
possible solutions:

The chart
window loads up, but I don't see a chart:
You may have old java applet version saved
in the cache memory of your browser.
- Clear your browser cache. In Internet Explorer, you can access it
under 'Tools': 'Internet Options': 'Delete Files'.
- Log out from our site and then close ALL open browser windows,
including any pop-up windows and any charts you have open.
- Open a new browser window and go back to
www.marketvolume.com
login page.
- Press Ctrl-F5
- Login to our site and press Ctrl-F5 again.
- Try to open a chart from either from the left hand side menu or
by clicking on the IV or AD buttons from our 'Market Summary' table.
Some charts work, but others load up blank:
- Repeat the above steps 1 through 5.
- Try to open the chart that you initially had problems with, but
don't open any of the other charts.
- If this fails, repeat step 1 again.
You may need to empty SUN's Java VM cache itself.
- Click on the 'Start Menu' : 'Settings' : 'Control Panel'
- If SUN's Java is installed, you should see an icon called
'Java', double-click on that.
- When the Java panel opens, select 'Delete Files' and press OK.
- Open the site and try and load a chart once again.
You may need to download the latest version of
Java Virtual
Machine (JVM).

If nothing helps

The chart
window does not load up:
- Press Ctrl+F5 to refresh the browser window.
- If you are using any pop-up
blocking software, check if
www.marketvolume.com is in the list of allowed sites.
- Log out from our site and
then close ALL open browser windows and charts, including any pop-up
windows.
- Clear your browser cache. In

- Try to open a chart from either from the left hand side menu or

- The
"Connection error..."
dialogue doesn't go away:
In an effort to reduce their bandwidth, some internet service
providers (ISPs) have instituted a system of caching frequently
requested files. In addition, your browser does the same thing. Caching
will sometimes cause problems when we update our JavaVolume charting
programs. Below we have outlined some steps you can take if you are
having problems accessing or using our charts:
- Close ALL open browser windows, including any pop-up windows.
- Open a new browser and then log into
www.marketvolume.com.
- If all else fails, check your Internet connection -
For Windows:
- Click on 'Start', then click on 'Run'.
- Type in 'command.com' (without the quotes) and press 'OK'.
- In the new window that appears, type in 'ping yahoo.com -t' and
press Enter. After a few seconds, you will see results (called "ping
statistics") appear on your screen. Among the numbers appearing are
"approximate round-trip times in milliseconds (ms)".
If the time for a reply is greater than 350 ms, then there may be a
connection speed issue with your ISP. If you see gaps in the replies,
then your Internet connection is unstable and you should contact your
ISP.
For Mac OS X:
- Go to Applications: Utilities and double-click on 'Terminal'.
- When the terminal window appears, type in 'ping yahoo.com' and
press Enter. After a few seconds, you will see results (called "ping
statistics") appear on your screen. Among the numbers appearing are
"approximate round-trip times in milliseconds (ms)".
If the
time for a reply is greater than 350ms, then there may be a connection
speed issue with your ISP. If you see gaps in the replies, then your
Internet connection is unstable and you should contact your ISP.

Try selecting a different "Period".

Try closing the chart and then reload the Chart.
- Reload the browser
using Ctrl-F5.
- Close all browser windows and then re-open them.

My JavaCharts
won't print:
This problem can generally be resolved by closing all your browser
windows and then reloading the JavaCharts.
If you still cannot print the charts, the problem may be caused by a
pop-up blocking program. Browser add-ons like Google's toolbar and
Alexa's toolbar have built-in pop-up blocking, in order to print our
charts you will need to turn off their pop-up blocking before trying to
print a chart. Otherwise, there is a chance that your firewall software
may be blocking access to the chart printing feature, as such we suggest
you make sure you have www.marketvolume.com added to your allowed sites list in your
firewall and pop-up blocking software.

I would like to print a bigger chart, but your printing features won't
allow it.
You can work around this problem, but only if you have access to a full
word processing program; a simple text editing program will not do.
- Press the "Print Screen" button on your keyboard (the chart must be open).
- Open a word processing program, such as Microsoft Word or Works
- Set the page layout to 'landscape'.
- Press CTRL+V, or go to Edit and select Paste.
- Now print the chart.

A few of our subscribers are still using old web browsers.
Unfortunately, this can lead to problems logging into our site and
viewing our charts To remedy the situation, we strongly suggest
that you download the most up-to-date browser version available
for your computer.

When I click on "Print
Chart" or "Help" nothing happens. What do I do? In this
case, it is quite likely that you have a pop-up blocker running on your
computer. This may be a third-party piece of software that you
installed, or it may be the Google or Alexa toolbar, which also stops
pop-ups.
There are two things you can do to solve this:

Hold down the CTRL button on your keyboard
and then press the Print Chart or Help button, as some pop-up blockers
allow you to use the CTRL button to bypass pop-up blocking.

Disable pop-up blocking for MarketVolume.com
in your pop-up blocking software. For instance, on the Google toolbar,
click on the button that looks like this:

You can then enable blocking once you leave the site.
